Alive Credit Union and High School 9:12
Setting students up for success
Alive Credit Union selected High School 9:12 to receive a $12,500 donation as part of Elan’s charitable giving program, Across the Country.
The donation will support and expand two programs, including the addition of a second 6-week financial literacy course for students in the Jacksonville community. Young adults will meet weekly to learn about money management and personal finance goals.
Additionally, the gift will help fund a popular media training day for high school athletes. The event teaches valuable speaking and interpersonal skills which student athletes can use to hopefully increase their chances of a college scholarship.
"We have received several notes regarding the [financial literacy] boot camp — the response has been amazing. We are very excited about this new program."
"We’re proud to launch Across the Country Charitable Giving and help support the positive impact our credit union partners have on their communities,” said Elan’s Credit Card GM, John Owens. "We believe giving back is more important than ever and including our credit union partners was a meaningful component of bringing this project to fruition."
We encourage you to learn more about our credit union partners, their selected organizations, and if you feel so inspired — how to get involved. Connect with us on LinkedIn and check back for upcoming volunteer opportunities in your area.
